EU Regulations

Overview

The EU Regulations outline the ESF objectives as being improving employment opportunities, strengthening social inclusion, fighting poverty, promoting education, skills and life-long learning and developing active, comprehensive and sustainable inclusion policies and thereby contributing to economic, social and territorial cohesion.


The Common Provisions Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishes the framework for action by the European Social Fund (ESF), the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Cohesion Fund, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. The European Social Fund Regulation (EU) No 1304/2013 is the ESF regulation which outlines, the thematic objectives, the principles and the rules concerning programming, monitoring and evaluation, management and control.
